- description

“Homing” means to find your way back from where you began. But what if it’s no longer clear to you where you began, or where you are going. In this installation a herd of sculpted wooden houses is lifted skyward on spindly legs and teeters on a steel ground that no longer offers a way for them to root their foundations. They are delicate, vulnerable forms pulled between collapse and lift off. Are they seeking a permanent location?  Are they leaving behind an environment that no longer sustains them? These migrating houses provoke the viewer to consider their own ideas of home, whether a dwelling, town, country or a state of mind and if we also inhabit the world of this uprooted herd?
